*No matter which type of the dye you use to colour your hair always do the patch test, particularly so if you are using the market product. How to go about it is always mentioned in the precaution slip accompanying by the dye. In case you detect any adverse effect, take an antihistamine like Avil and drink plenty of liquid to dilute the ellergic effects besides washing off the experimental spot. Always be careful and never alter your dye brand frequently as it may encourage the hair fall.

*Normally people dye their hair after shampooing and making it clean. This is wrong. You must always use hair colour or bleach on hair in its soiled state. It is a mistake to shampoo it first, contrary to direction on most do it yourself products. It must be understood that the oil in hair actually protects the stain against the unwanted invasion of chemical into the system. You shouldn’t even brush your hair on the day of dyeing.

*People when dye hair make the mistake of elimination of red pigmentation if any but realise that red pigmentation is an important factor in the actual structure of the hair. Moreover when you darken your hair the red pigmentation highlights good aesthetically making it look more natural and charming.

*Sometimes the chemical effect of the market dyes show their adverse effect later on in reducing your hearing power.

*Highlighting is kinder then total bleaching and it looks wonderful, like naturally sun streaked hairs.

*Bleaching is a technique best left to the salon, as there is too much room for mistakes with home kits.

*On average, highlights will need to be retouched every three months or so, though more frequent retouching may be necessary.

Before colouring your hair few things should be properly taken into consideration like what type of hairs you have? what colour type is going to suit you and what is the right way to colour the hairs?. Hairs can bring lots of changes in your personality hence, should be coloured very carefully so that it does not give any wrong impression about your personality.

The whole thing works like this:in the basic colour-usually a more or less creamy emulsion-there are few primary constituents. These substances are made up of tiny particles. In the first phase, they penetrate the outer scaly layer of the hair. In the second phase, the oxidisation medium takes efect. It binds the primary substances of the colouring to the pigment they are then so enlarged that they can not leave the hair.

Advantages of Hair Colouring

*This method permits all colour changes from light to dark.
*Lightning the hairs can be done in two or three stages.
*Grey hairs can be reliably covered up.
*The colour cannot be washed out.

Disadvantages of Hair Colouring

*Depending on the intensity of the colour change, many or sometimes few prominent roots will show as soon as the hairs begin to grow.

*If you have dyed darker and wish to return to the natural colours, it is possible but its stressful for the hairs.

On balance real colours are to be recommended if you want to keep that colour permanently, if lighter hair is desired, or if the grey hairs have become so numerous that they cannot be hidden with a tone.
